FYI, I’m Team #TargetStyle
When I started thinking of what I wanted to do for my 7 month loc update via 13th, I did not plan an entire look from Target. Unconsciously though, that’s exactly what I did and it made me realize this was worthy of a journal entry.
I’m not sure when it happened but Target is definitely one of my favorite places to shop for clothing. For a great price, I’ve been able to count on finding quality basics, trendy pieces and more after Target introduced new in-house brands a few years ago. Additionally, since the pandemic began, my need for more comfy yet remote work appropriate attire has almost exclusively been taken care of by Target brands like Colsie and Wild Fable.
Below is a linked breakdown of today’s look. I topped everything from Target off with my prized Airmax 97s and one of this summer’s must have bags by black-owned brand YAITO.
1. “Leather” Joggers by A New Day
These are the joggers of my fall dreams. I have to thank @dlolo on Instagram for putting me onto these joggers. If you don’t follow her (and want to spend money 😫), go ahead and follow because she has a great eye and always has the best recommendations. Anyway, these come in 3 colors for just $20. The price is just TOO good and I love the fit. I went for a slightly more oversized fit so if you’re using me to gauge and you want them more fitted, get the (L). I copped them in black and brown in (XL). They also come in plus which is awesome.
2. Rolling Stones Graphic Tee
I LOVE me a graphic tee. Big reason why Urban Outfitters is another one of my favorite stores. Also why I love thrifting. Target has offered some fire options this year and this one was everywhere. I used to have a Stones poster up for years throughout college and in my current apartment. It’s a super iconic image and this tee with all these variations meant I had to have it. Since this came from a Juniors line and I like my tee’s oversized, I got the (XXL).
3. Classic Jean Jacket by Wild Fable
So when we talk about closet staples, (for me!) jean jackets make the list every time. Jean jackets are layering goals and get you through those awkward days of spring or fall that require some additional warmth. I had my heart set on thrifting the perfect LEVI’s jean jacket last year sometime and during a random Target visit, I decided to try on this jacket and have not looked back. It sits right where I wanted and there’s room for layering without it feeling too big. I love this one and it adds that finishing touch I need to a lot of my outfits. I’m not seeing this exact option on Target, but links to a distressed version in the same wash and the black wash version of the one I’m wearing. I got this in a (L).
To wrap this up, I’m not saying you should go spend a bunch of money during quarantine or stalk #targetstyle on IG the way I do. Just note that, the next time you’re in the mood for shopping and want to put together a dope look that won’t break the bank, keep Target on your list of places to search. I know I am.
